Trophy Pintail Duck Hunting Alaska's Aleutian Islands
The Pintail Duck in Alaska
The Northern Pintail is one of the first ducks to start there southern migration from the YK delta to their first staging areas along the Alaska Peninsula. The shallow tidal flats and lagoons are the pintails favorite feeding grounds due to the shallow open water where eel grass thrives. Alaska has a very liberal daily limit of 8 pintails. We hunt Pintails near Bristol Bay, the Alaska Peninsula, Cold Bay and occasionally in the Aleutian Islands. Cold Bay’s Izembek Lagoon consistently produces great pintail hunting along with other puddle duck species.
