Pacific Eider
Duck hunting
The Pacific Eider is the largest
of all Sea ducks and the 2nd most
sought after Sea Duck in Alaska.
Pacific Eider hunting takes allot of
patience and has the lowest success rate of all of our Duck hunts we offer,
mainly due to the
migratory patterns and winter habitat we never seem to be where the big groups
are traveling through. We are lucky enough to get a few
Pacific Eiders each year hunting on Island -X but they are not even close to a
sure thing, or shot on a regular basis with Aleutian Island Watefowlers.
During the 2006-2007 season we will be hunting a few new
locations that hold larger populations of Pacific Eiders and with our new
freedom class 17ft Bankes boat we will have allot more access to areas along the
islands that we have never hunted before, so we are hopeful to have a better
success on Pacific Eiders this coming season.
